Ms. Diaz is wearing a pair of denim by Corpus while in Europe promoting Shrek 3. I normally don't care for the denim by Corpus but I think these jeans are a great fit for Cameron. And with those sexy heels.. DELISH! The wash she has on is called the Alpha Grey Cracked Jeans and another great thing about Corpus jeans are that they are reasonable retailing at about $150.

She's Rich and Skinny...

Lindsay Lohan is rich and skinny... and she wants you to know it! Here is Lindsay wearing a great pair of Rich & Skinny Sleak Denim in Grey, which I actually have and am in love with. This is a great pair of stretch denim that conforms to your body beautifully... Rich & Skinny jeans aren't your typical pair of Seven's or Citizen's so they won't shrink the way most denim would, for a more true-to-size fit. Not only are the fits amazing, but this denim line has one of the best colored denim collection that is hot this season. However, American Rag Fashion Island does not carry this line since I believe Neiman Marcus has a deal with them or something... BUT! The American Rag in Los Angeles does have a few different washes in stock, so please check out our La Brea location to see what they have. San Francisco AmRag may have it as well. This line also carries skirts, shorts, capris, boot cuts, straight legs, and flares... so no... they don't just have skinny's!!! Rich & Skinny jeans costs around $190-$225.

What is She Wearing?

First off I have to say that I love Courtney Cox-Arquette. She is flawless and I really think her style is stunningly and playfully elegant, I don't know if that makes sense... Some may say boring, but I'm not too adventurous myself in my fashion statements considering my color schemes tend to be grey, black, navy, and white with greens and reds mixed in here and there for some color. Below the former Friends star is wearing what I believe to be an A.P.C cardigan. Want the entire look? Pair it with some black slacks by Raven which we also have in stock with one of the assorted vintage white blouses we carry in our vintage collection . If I'm not mistaken, the A.P.C cardigan runs about $227, the slacks by Raven are about $220, and a vintage white blouse can run anywhere from $19.95-39.95. I'll get all the exact details in asap.

More denim shorts...

Hey all, I recently posted a blog about denim shorts and how I liked the whole, "pockets sticking out of the shorts" like what Mischa Barton was wearing... Well, here we have La Lohan lounging with her pal DJ Samantha Ronson, with the same concept, except she's wearing grey denim shorts which I haven't seen too, too much of lately, and variety is a good thing...for the most part. But I love, Love, LOVE the grey wash on these shorts Lindsay's wearing. They look like a pair of Ksubi's that she cut up into shorts. If you didn't already know, Ksubi is a master at perfecting the grey wash on their denim! I think everyone should own a pair... well, everyone slim, since Ksubi's denim line tends to run on the slimmer side. Even for the men's it can be pretty snugged! Although the Dee Dee's for men and the Scooter's for women are a bit more of a comfortable fit. American Rag Fashion Island is proud to be one of the only few retailers in California with a HUGE stock of Ksubi denim. More than twenty styles and washes to be exact!

** Thanks to a tip on Superfutre, the shorts Lindsay's wearing are by Ksubi and they're called the Albercurque in Worn Grey and it retails for about $220. Although we don't carry it in Worn Grey we do have the Albercurque in Black in stock for only $150, but the Worn Grey's may be sold on ebay, so you guys could try there. En Route...

Hey ladies, I just read the latest women's buying report and there are a few new things to expect in the next coming weeks.

More bikini's from Insight are on the way, we only have one two-piece set in right now. It's actually pretty cute and colorful, definitely something the fellas will notice!

I'm excited to announce that American Rag Fashion Island will be receiving a new casual-wear line, Saint Grace. I had came across their line a while back and had made a request for our buyer to look into it and whether it was my request or she already knew about the line, either way we are getting in a shipment very soon. I had thought when I saw the collection was how well it would sell at our store because of how cute and simple it was and plus it was reasonably priced. which in my book is always a great combo! I would say it's a mix between Splendid/C&C and Clu. A great line in my opinion and I can't wait to see what we get.

We'll also be getting more apparel from French designer Vanessa Bruno, another women's line that sold very well at our Fashion Island store last season. We have a couple new Spring items in already from this line, but I'm excited to see more!

For all my chicas trying to get themselves a pair of high-waisted denim shorts like our celebs below, the Alice McCall Hi-Waist Denim shorts are being shipped as we speak so sit tight and keep calling in to see when it arrives because I am thinking this trend will stay through the Summer and you're gonna want a sexy pair of your own to strut in! This is what I believe will be sent in, as it's the only denim shorts I could find on Alice McCall's site this season and it is one hot sexy pair if I do say so myself:

Mischa Barton being very busy-busy in her barely there denim shorts exposing her pockets. Which I personally think is a hot look. The fit and rise complements her well, which is a rare thing for the fired "O.C" actress.

Here's Ashley Olsen in what appears to be a vintage pair of denim shorts which I'd prefer over Mischa's. AR has a variety of denim shorts in all sorts of colorful washes in our vintage section at our store, so you too can have this sexy classic vintage look. And hey, you'll pay less, AND you'll be very up-to-date with the trend! Plus, with vintage, you can expect the rise to already be a little bit higher anyway.

Keira Knightley is making a bold fashion statement pairing her denim shorts with leggings, which I feel defeats the whole purpose of wearing shorts, but a part of me actually likes this get-up, so I applaude Ms. Knightley. There is a pair of Diesel denim shorts at the store that look very close to what she's wearing. If anything, I think our Diesel denim shorts are cuter! But the style is pretty much the same. I believe we only have a few sizes left as it came in a couple months ago.

Nicole Richie Relaxes in Madison Marcus

Nicole Richie out and about with current beau, Joel Madden from Good Charlotte. She's wearing a sexy, yet classy, Madison Marcus Black Zest Tunic. We don't have this at our store but we do carry a Black Dress from the same line that also have the same detailing on the chest of the dress. Rachel Bilson in Mike & Chris

Rachel is wearing Mike & Chris' Bailey Bubble Dress in Black. People went crazy for this coat at our store several months ago. Unfortunately, we are currently sold out of this coat in Black. But we still have it in the Forest Green which is also as darling. Not many sizes are left though, so call or come in and make sure you get it while it's still there. This coat retails at about $308.

Unlike having a celebrity just endorsing a fashion line, having the celebrity designing the apparel themselves brings in even more excitement. Look at the success of Madonna's partnership with H&M, it would make sense then that other celebrity designers should catch that wave and join in on the money-making bonanza!

That is the case with one of American Rag Fashion Island's favorite and best selling designers from last season, Jovovich-Hawk. In case that name didn't sound familiar, indeed that is actress/model Milla Jovovich's label. And she is taking her label into Mango stores for a limited edition line for the usually price-friendly Spanish retailer. This limited line consists of only about ten dresses, so make sure you get your hands on them before they're all gone! Below are some of my personal favorite dresses from the line.

Botkier Now Available at American Rag Fashion Island

Botkier is a line of luxurious handbags for women of all types. Considered to be one of today's "IT" bags to have, and American Rag is delighted to carry the line at our store. Celebrity fans include, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan (below), Alicia Keys, etc. The bag pictured above is the Sasha Satchel Bag.

Lindsay Lohan is into Something Else...

Women's Buyer for American Rag said that she really believes in the success of Australian line, Something Else. And it seems so does Lindsay Lohan as she has been caught sporting some pieces from their latest collection. Apparently La Lohan, or her stylist, is a fan of American Rag as it is the only boutique that is known to carry this line in Southern California. The Black Shirt with the Gold Bow and the Blue/Green Striped Hoodie Jumper are both still available in select sizes at American Rag at the Fashion Island store!
