I'm Audi!

Unfortunately, this will be my last post on here associating myself with American Rag Fashion Island as I have decided to quit for the summer. I will continue to post relevent fashion postings on here about new lines and new collections and all that good stuff, however this blog won't be focused solely on American Rag any longer. BUT!!! Before I leave, I would like to give you one last AR info on a ton of new women's apparel that we've received in the past couple weeks up until my final week which was on Saturday May 26, 2007.

For the Men, actually a lot of things were transferred. The only noticebly new items we have received are these goucho-looking sweat-shorts in black by Corpus, more polo's and tees from Trovata, also more polo's and shirts from Fred Perry. OH! I forgot the name of this new brand, I will post on here as soon as I find out, but also for men, there is a new line of tees and sweaters that are made from Organic Cotton, so for all you environmentally-conscious fellas out there, this line will be a great addition to your wardrobe this season, as they do come in fun vibrant bright colors!!! And it's reasonably priced at $45-$90 (I believe)... And a couple new washes in Insight denim came in and if you didn't already know, Insight denim is very affordable mostly selling for under $90!

The ladies on the other hand has had quite a bit of shipment:

More A.P.C. Madras plaid dresses that come in Blue and in Red. They are only $99!!! My personal favorite, however, is the red plaid dress.

Mike & Chris delivers a mini bubble jacket in Cream and I believe it's a little under $200 which very reasonable for this line and for the great style it brings. I have already seen a couple differnt celebrities sporting this cropped coat already in black! But I think the Cream is a great color for the summer!

NEW Da-Nang shorts and wide-legged pants ranging from $150-$200.

Silk Shorts and a cute knit boho-type tank both in black just in by Vanessa Bruno. Expect to hand over at least $190 for either of the two pieces, but I think it's worth it to look that cute and ZEXY! Especially the black knit tank.

Lots more fun tanks and tank dresses from LA Made, which only runs about $40-$75. Plus great stiped Tee-s and tank dresses that are great to pull over yourself coming to and from the beach to cover up after you've laid out for a fabulous tan.

Splendid has really impressed me with some of their new stuff. There's this new black buttoned sun tank dress that I am in love with and also a V-Neck Tunic-like dress also in black that's also pretty cute. I believe both dresses cost around $150. We also received more cute comfy tops and leggings and thermals that we all have come to expect from Splendid in Spring-appropriated colors and patterns.

Another line that I have come to enjoy seeing in our store is Aude. It's a mix between Splendid and James Perse. It's a simple Basic's line for Women that I have come to adore. We started just carrying fitted Tees and tanks, but we just got in these two thin striped tank tops one is with dark grey and white, and the other is a golden mustard and white.

Sweetees is another line we carried in the Fall that sold rather well also. Mainly dresses, but this time around, the dresses are shorter and a little bit more on the casual side. Again, it's great to throw on and off for a day at the beach or just to go run some errands but you still want to look somewhat presentable and cute! These cotton tank dresses come in blue and in white and will run you about $90.

From Sweetees, we also have Zoe Tees, which we now have in a blue-grey and cement striped tunic tee-shirt dress, and that same print is also on the swimsuit set that they sent us. It also come in black stripes as well! The tunic tee dress will run about $110. And the swimsuit is about $85.

Pulcini is yet another Basic's line for Women. The tees and tanks also come in solids and striped prints. The color schemes seems to be more of a pastel look like baby blue and light pink, etc... at least that's what it seems with what our buyer bought. There is a red tee-shirt in the line as well though. These soft and sensual feeling tops will cost you around $50-$75.

A LOT more bathing suits/swimsuits by Insight are now available, as well halter tunic dresses... all of there stuff are great bold and bright crazy, fun prints... I personally like the brashness of the prints, it for sure seems like something Nicole Richie would be sporting! And a lot of them are pretty reasonable costing only about $70-$90 for the set.

A long thin red and cream striped cardigan and a new blouse in by Lisa Gorman which I think is quite darling, although I'm always a sucker for cardigans! I believe the cream blouse is about $145, and the cardigan is about $150.

New denim washes and fits for 18th Amendment, Raven Denim and Paige are now in! Plus we got in two new denim lines: Small Town and Anlo! Both are in skinny fits only and are about $200.

AND FINALLY!!!
FINALLY!!! More Trovata for Women. love, Love, LOVE! the new Trovata denim shorts, it also comes in denim overall shorts. A cute multi-colored hoodie sweatshirt and a khaki canvas-like bolero rounds out the new apparel we got in from Trovata. I am hoping, and am pretty sure, more will be sent in from this line very soon.

Keep checking back on this post as I will try to keep updating it with pics and more exact price info. Sorry there aren't any pictures attached to these labels.

Hello, Madras!

I couldn't talk about this season's trends without mentioning the "MADRAS" craze that's is making its rounds to a variety of retailers from J Crew and American Eagle Outfitters to Barney's Co-Op and of course, American Rag Fashion Island. We have an assortment of brands that cater to your Madras needs...

For the Women, we have a great simple classic line called Tailor Vintage. This New York based company has been shipping their contemporary sportswear to all the high-end upscale businesses like ARFI! Their shorts will run you from about $98-$120.

Below is a color swatch of the different patterns their Madras come in. We only carry the Key West Tea Dip and the Sand Bleach.

Madras is so big this season, reknown fashion lable, A.P.C. launched their own Madras line, which is even more price friendly than their already reasonably priced apparel. Below are some of the great new things we received in from their Madras line. This sun-dress below is my personal favorite from the Madras collection by A.P.C. It retails about $129. There's also a match handkerchief that would match this dress for about $30-$40 sold separately. Overall, this collections ranges from about $50-$220.

**There is a matching tote bag to match the top above
and/or the jacket below for about $60 sold separately**

*The floral blouse above is not from their Madras line, but new to our store*

And for the Men, we actually just received our Tailor Vintage (Men) shorts for men this past week. Again, we have the Key West Tea Dip, the Sand Bleach and (I believe) the Flamingo Acid. The men's shorts will run about $108-$125.

Also for the Men, we carry some great shirts and shorts by Engineered Garments. Now I must say that I personally like this line a lot. It's a sexy, yet stylishly classic brand. Below are some of the great stuff we have in from them this season. Prices range from $150-$200

Hey fellas, pair the Madras shirts with some fine quality premium denim also by Engineered Garments (see below). We only have a few sizes left in the wash below. I believe it is a Raw rinse. Engineered Garments' denim retails at about $230.

What is She Wearing?

First off I have to say that I love Courtney Cox-Arquette. She is flawless and I really think her style is stunningly and playfully elegant, I don't know if that makes sense... Some may say boring, but I'm not too adventurous myself in my fashion statements considering my color schemes tend to be grey, black, navy, and white with greens and reds mixed in here and there for some color. Below the former Friends star is wearing what I believe to be an A.P.C cardigan. Want the entire look? Pair it with some black slacks by Raven which we also have in stock with one of the assorted vintage white blouses we carry in our vintage collection . If I'm not mistaken, the A.P.C cardigan runs about $227, the slacks by Raven are about $220, and a vintage white blouse can run anywhere from $19.95-39.95. I'll get all the exact details in asap.
