Life With Bird.

For those of you who have shopped at our store last season, Life With Bird was a devilishly flirty women's line that we carried that sold quite successfully and again, it is an Australian brand. I was sad when I didn't see any of their Spring apparel in our store because I when I was on their website checking out their latest collection, I thought that American Rag Fashion Island customers would really like it! So while I was working on Sunday, Bridget McCall (ie: Bird from Life With Bird) came in and shopped around and I mean I didn't know it was her until we started talking to each other and she confirmed that Ruthie, our women's buyer, had PLACED AN ORDER FOR THEIR SPRING COLLECTION! (I believe it's Spring, perhaps she ordered the Fall collection) So I will keep you updated as I find out more about what exactly we might be receiving! But do check out their stuff, it's fantastic!

New Denim Alert!!!

Let's start with the Men...

HEY! Guess what? J Brand for Men is NOW AVAILABLE at American Rag Fashion Island in three different washes. Starting at $180.

New washes in Ksubi just in, including the rare Van Winkle Pipeleg Stretch Skinny w/ Button Fly, in a Washed White Steel Blue that looks mucho bueno! It is priced about $265. (see below)

Now for the Women...

Deener is BACK! We carried a generous collection of Deener's in the Fall of '06 but transferred them all during our winter sale. But we are fully stocked again with three brand new washes including a skinny leg with flap button back pockets! And if you've never tried on a pair of Deener's before, YOU SHOULD! They are incredibly soft made from the finest Italian and Japanese denim and you can feel good wearing them because they run a little bigger. So if you normally wear a 28 waist, I would recommend you try on a 27, or a 26 even! Now doesn't that sound good?! Deener is your NEW default denim! Deener's will run you around $173-$200, but in my opinion, it's well worth the comfort!

More Paige Premium Denim are finally in. We can't seem to keep Ms. Paige on our shelves lately. But a few more darker denim in a more straight to boot cut fits to please all you ladies out there who aren't quite ready to venture into the trendy Flares and Bell Bottoms that are in this season. And I agree, if not worn properly by the right person, this look can be tragic! So stay safe with the straight/boot cuts! And Ms. Paige has got 'em! Prices vary between washes from about $170-$220.

What else have we got?? Oh, that's right, more 18th Amendment denim. A Mischa Barton favorite. This is denim line that is an ode to the classic American roaring 1920's. Simple and sophisticated. It's a vintage look and feel without being used... (see below)

Just received some Ksubi in the Low Rise Skinny Pins Mikey Blue's priced at $275. Also available in a High-Waist fit.

NEW Designer Alert!!!

As a Vietnamese American, I was pleased to come across a Vietnamese designer showcasing her talents at last year's New York Fashion Week. I am hoping we'll eventually carry her stuff at our store, but until then check out this article below all about this up-and-coming new designer.

"Thuy Launches Designer Women's Clothing Line and Opens Showroom

New fashion line Thuy launches at New York Fashion Week with the showroom exhibition of its Fall 2007 Collection. Lead designer Thuy Diep comes full circle from her days as a child learning to sew in her parent's tailoring school, to Parson School of Design graduation through diverse fashion industry work, to deliver casual chic designer clothing with understated romantic sophistication.

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 31, 2007 -- Thuy is pleased to announce the launch of its Fall 2007 designer women's ready-to-wear clothing line. The exhibition of the collection to be held on Saturday February 3rd at 5 p.m., will take place at the Thuy Showroom, located at 114 W. Houston, Suite 3, New York, NY. The presentation will also mark the opening of the Thuy Showroom, a tranquil and inspirational space dedicated to the display of Thuy's clothing.

The new line is a true reflection of its designer, Thuy Diep. Born to parents who taught at and operated a tailoring school in her native Vietnam, and surrounded by an extended family spanning virtually all aspects of the fashion world, Diep began honing her skills -- and a love for well-crafted clothes -- at an early age. A Parsons School of Design graduate, Thuy's career in the fashion industry has spanned a wide variety of positions, from pattern making to designing. With the launch of her self-named label, Diep brings her life's influences to realization in her clothing.

"My clothing mixes casual chic with understated romantic sophistication," describes Diep, whose designs highlight form, craftsmanship and subtle -- yet dramatic -- details. Her creations reflect a woman of beauty and intellect, one with an artistic and forever-youthful soul.

For information on the exhibition or to schedule an appointment for the Thuy Showroom: Phone: 646-429-9521.

Founded in 2006, Thuy is a designer women's ready-to-wear clothing line -- and dedicated showroom -- based in the SoHo-area of New York City."

THUY's Fall 2007 collection is already available for buyers to purchase, please check out Thuy New York now for her latest collection and all other information.
